Do You Know?

Do you know what is in the products you are putting on your face every day? Do you want to close this screen right now because you would rather not know?

Please, keep reading. I want you to live healthier. I really do!

I had heard plenty of times before that there were trace amounts of toxins in the makeups, moisturizers, and facewashes we use every day, but I did not think it was that big of a deal. I figured if it was that bad companies wouldn’t be allowed to put the products on the shelves. Wrong!

A low level of these toxins is not considered to be dangerous enough to matter. However, those who decided this did not account for these toxins building up in us over time with daily use. This build up is called bioaccumulation. It means that the body is absorbing these chemicals faster than it can excrete them, and they build up inside of us.

Friends, that’s not good!

Here are some of the ingredients in normal everyday products that are not good for us:

  • Parabens
  • Talc
  • Bismuth
  • Mineral oil
  • Synthetic fragrance
  • Synthetic color

If you look these up, you’ll find most of them are potentially cancerous and/or cause hormone disruption (because they act as a synthetic hormone). Is that worth continuing to use these products every day? Not to me. And friends, I even found out that some of the high-end brands have these ingredients. I thought I was paying for something better. Now I know better.

I have started using safe products on my skin, thanks to Young Living. Did you know that Young Living has skin care products and a makeup line? I use Art Gentle Cleanser and Art Light Moisturizer for my skin care routine now. I also switched out my old makeup and started using Savvy Minerals.

I didn’t throw out everything I was using all at once. So, don’t panic and say you can’t afford to get rid of everything. I began switching one or two items at a time. Moving towards better products as you can is better than not changing anything at all.

Be brave!

Be blessed!

Be oily!
