Back to Nature
Over the last several years I have been trying to eat healthier, heal my body in more natural ways, and use less chemicals in our home. I pinned articles on essential oils, and I kept telling myself I would start using them. However, I just kept putting it off. After attending an Essential Oils class at my sweet friend’s house and listening to her joyfully tell us how much she loves oils and how they have benefited her household, I could no longer put it off. I decided to finally get a starter kit.
I know it’s not very fun to think about this, but I ask that you think about the amount of chemicals you encounter in your daily life. It’s quite scary. We have become a society pumped full of chemicals. There are chemicals on and in our foods and beverages. We breathe in chemicals from fragrances to cleaning supplies. We put chemicals on our bodies in the form of shampoos, soaps, lotions, and cosmetics.
Most companies don’t care what these chemicals are doing to our health. Their goal is to profit from it. Whether we want to admit it, or not, they have done such a good job creating a dependency in us for their products that it seems nearly impossible to live without them.
So, if you are still reading this and haven’t backed out by this point, thank you. I am not going to ask you to rid your life of every chemical because I am not requiring that of myself. I am asking that you become more aware of the chemicals in your life, and start making some changes, even if it is just replacing one product at a time. Eat less packaged foods. Clean your house with less chemicals. I use vinegar and baking soda, and I plan on getting some Thieves Household Cleaner from Young Living.
Nature holds so many remedies. We just don’t know how to use them anymore because they aren’t advertised to us, unlike the chemicals.
God made our bodies so much stronger than what we allow them to be. We stifle the body’s natural healing process with quick fixes to get back to our busy lives. There are other cultures that still stand by natural remedies, but we have become too consumed in being consumers of the products put before us.
I’m already enjoying my oils. I have diffused lemon oil to freshen up the house. And my husband actually commented that it was a nice refreshing smell, instead of an overpowering fake scent. I have tested out the Thieves Household Cleaner, thanks to a sample from my friend. I have used peppermint oil to help with nausea, and I am already a fan of the Stress Away blend.
I am so excited to join the oily life!
I encourage you to look into more natural ways to improve your life.
What changes can you make?
